Healthy Snaking Ideas
Hello Fitfam,
I've arranged for you an interesting list of snacking ideas that might help you cut back off some calories. But first, why do we snack? As snacking is an art of eating, we need to become expert in choosing the healthiest. It prevents binge eating and makes you eat less throughtout the day
1. Nuts
Healthy fats are essential in your diet to be balanced. They are highly loaded with fiber, protein. Carry a handful of nuts around like
- Almond
- Cashew
- Pistachios
- Walnut
- Brazil nuts
2. Fruits
During work/school you need sugar to energize yourself. Instead of grabbing a chocolate or cookie, have an Apple instead or your favorite fruit. Apples make you alert, bananas make you energized ,and grapes are healthy bonbons. It's fun to google your favourite fruit and see how benefiting it is.
3. Carrot and hummus
You might not be familiar with this combination but it's magic!
4. Banana/Apple & Peanutbutter
We are all addicted to Peanutbutter! But have you trued them with Banana or Apple? You'll owe me.
Tip: for the maximum benefit, try to choose peanutbutter with 98% peanuts or make your own at home by googling recipes or YouTube.
5. Air popped corn or with coconut oil
Who loves watching movies in a sleepover? Popcorn is actually very healthy and low in calories. Make sure to cook them healthy with coconut oil or air popped.
6.yoghurt
Opt for classic yoghurt because the flavored ones are loaded with sugars. For dessert: Get a plate, put the amount of yoghurt you want, cut your favourite fruit, and a drizzle of honey on top.
7. Granola Bars
You have to be very selective when it comes to granola bars. I recommend Nature Valley but don't exceed 1-2 bars maximum per day.
8. Healthy biscuit
Although you might bake your own at home (using a healthy recipe from google), I found this healthy biscuit on the go: McVities wholesense. Maximum 2/day
9. Hot chocolate
Not only tasty and delicious, but also suppresses your appetite and makes you eat less. Chocolate is full if antioxidants too.
Recipe: 1 cup fat-free milk, 1 TBS unsweetened cacao, 1 TSP brown sugar.
10. Greek Yogurt
Personal favourite since im not a big fan of yoghurt. Sadly, It's rarely available.
11. 1 C STRAWBERRIES AND 3 TBSP COOL WHIP FREE
For a totally guiltless dessert, dish up a bowl of this sweet, fiber-rich combo.
12. Dark chocolate
Opt for 70% or more dark chocolate.
13. Salad
This is almost the first time I'll be talking about salad in my blog. I wanted to change the concept of healthy eating to you. Instead of telling you eat salad and blabla, I wanted to show you that you can make it your lifestyle because you eat whatever you want by simply switching to a healthier alternativewi. No doubt, salads are important and make a good snacking idea especially at night toavoid late night indulgence. Try to avoid the dressing and make your own of needed.
14. Soup
Winter's favourite snack. For example, Chicken broth with veggies and chicken is full of vitamins and nutrition.
15. Healthy parfait
Recipe: get a clear glass cup and layer the following: granola, chopped fruits, yoghurt, honey and all over again.
With Love,
Dalia.EK
