Important things to consider in your diet
Hello fitfam,
I apologize for not being able to post lately. I hope your diet is going as you please and that you are a step closer to your goal.
As we know, it humane for life to happen. We will feel bad, binge-eat , be unable to control our healthy eating, and indulge too much. The problem is that, once we start getting off the routine, we over do it and lose our motivation and stress out.
In this post, I'll try to give you some advices to use next time life happens to you and how you can overcome these negative feelings. Like any other, I haven't been the best in my eating habits the last couple of weeks as I've been travelling, attending university, reunions with old friends, meeting up with loved ones, and birthdays. We all want to enjoy the precious moments we have with our company and it wouldn't be so if we weren't flexible and able to eat what we enjoy and feel happy.
Here are some things to keep in mind regarding this matter and to keep your positive vibes:
1. Balance is the key
The key to anything and everything is balance. Too much or too less of something is never good, so is food. You need to take a break from your healthy eating and enjoy your favourite food. The science behind it is that: Leptin (a protein produced by fatty tissue which is believed to regulate fat storage in the body.) 's main function in the body is to play a significant role in regulating both hunger, food intake and energy expenditure. As leptin levels fall, the greater your cravings become for all those wonderful foods that you used to eat when you weren't dieting. So, allow yourself to have a cheatmeal once per week to fire up your leptin level and burn more fat.
2. One salad can't make you slim
We all know and belive that if you eat a salad once, it wont make you slim. So happens with unhealthy food. If you eat very few of them, you won't be fat. Life is sometimes fair, right?
3. First bite is the trap
We sometimes convince ourselves that one bite wont hurt anyone, but guess what? It's the first bite that makes everything go wrong. Always try to be careful from the first bite.
4. Cheat Day?
When we ruin our diet, we think of a cheat day. We start eating anything straight infront of us because we think it wont matter if we got back on tract the same day, but you can always balance by having healthy meals next and you won't gain much weight, if none at all.
5. What you eat in private, you wear in public
This is one of the strongest phrases I've came across that motivates me. Make sure you don't eat from the dollar menu, you are worth a million bucks.
6. Nothing is permanent
Consistency is the key. Your fats are not permanent so balance your eating habits and don't give up.
I hope this quick post of positive thinking about dieting made you a favour and helped you to outlook the concept in a better way.
COMMING UP: What is Leptin? How can you raise your leptin level and burn more calories? How it can affect you?
With true pleasure,
Dalia, EK

What if your problem is wanting to gain weight ? Or atleast, eating like a normal person would . I'm always forgetting to eat or not even feeling hunger and always told that i should gain weight or eat more to atleast function well or have the energy to continue the day. My weight is fine though i'm not underweight or overweight just considered "thin" by egyptians, i'm sure you know better. There are many ppl having the same case too
